FLIBS 2018 will present more than 1,200 boats and a thousand plus exhibitors across impressive seven show locations. With its amazing stats, the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show is the largest in-water boat show in the world and attracts a global audience of around 105,000 boating enthusiasts whom all share a common interest in this five-day extravaganza.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the “Yachting Capital of the World” will host its 59th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from October 31st to November 4th, 2018, which is right around the corner! Is Your Boat Ready for FLIBS 2018?

If you’re like one of the many yacht enthusiasts who come to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to show off their boats, you need to make sure you have everything ready! Since it’s right around the corner, here is a list of the things we suggest to look out for, so you can have your boat ready just in time for the boat show.

  1. Inspect the hull and all other parts of the boat for damage that may have occurred since the last time you used it.
  2. Ensure that the engine is in good working condition, by turning it on and checking that the battery is charged.
  3. Navigation lights and all the other electronics on the boat should also be thoroughly inspected.
  4. Do a general cleaning of hull, deck, and topsides using a mild detergent.
  5. Clean and polish metal with a good metal polish.
  6. Put on a good coat of wax.
  7. Check for hull abrasion, scratches, gouges, etc. and repair.
  8. Check for blisters and refinish is necessary.
  9. Check rudder and fittings.
  10. Check and replace zincs.
